    Incremental Number (WORD2000)

    I am trying to have a place in a Word document that has a number field that increments by 1. I have attached a copy of this file. I have used a field in the Header a long with other standard info I need on each page. Only the Number field needs to increment, but what I have found is that word only allows a max of 37176 (I think).
    Is there a better way of doing this? Or a better application?
    I need to have this so I can enter a new start number also.

    Hi BigHopper,
    Word's page numbering has an upper limit of 32766. I note that you've got your page numbering starting at 20000. You can get the same result by starting page numbering at 0 and changing your field to:
    {={PAGE #}+20000}
    That will give you an extra 20000 to play with. That will get you up to 52766 work order forms. If that's still not enough, you could replicate the document and start the next one with +52767 in the field instead of +20000, and so on.

    Cheers

    Thanks to Macropod, KB MacKenzie for your responses. I greatly appreciate your assistance, I'm sure one of the responses will get me to where I'm going with my project.

    Thanks
