Viewing the small folders to left of posts

I have noticed the past week that sometimes when I log into the lounge, the small folders to the left of the subject line, and some of the buttons are gone. You can see an outline where they were, and this is not influenced by whether I logged out or not. They come back when I refresh. What makes them disappear? I checked "Help" and didn't see them. What are these folders, and what is the significance of when one is shaded red?

    Thanks,

Well, strange as it may seem, if the folder icons are red, they are, ummm, unread - or at least indicate an unread post.
No idea why they are not showing sometimes. I assume you are following the advice for best viewing (found here) - otherwise you want to do a complete clean up of your IE temp files, and maybe increase the size of your temp internet files cache.

    Leif-
I see a number of red folders that have been read and have several responses in the thread in different categories.

The Red folders - as below - indicate some unread content within that thread, not that it is totally new or that you haven't read part of it already. Try Logging Out then back in again and/or using the Mark all Read <IMG SRC=http://www.wopr.com/w3timages/markallread.gif> button to see if that clears any anomolies.
