    Heading Style (Office 2000)

I am trying to create my own heading 4 (Hdg 4) style that would use roman numerals and be centered on the line. I keep getting a tab after the numeral. I have removed all tabs from the style, but it keeps showing up.

    Re: Heading Style (Office 2000)

    Hi Jan:
First of all, if you are trying to make a set of numbered styles, you should start with level one, otherwise you'll get separate lists. See <post#=76976>post 76976</post#> When you are in the Customized numbered dialog box, have you made sure that you've clicked on "More", & gone to the dialog box that says, "Follow number with" & put in "nothing"?
    Cheers,

The resolution is what Phil gave: When you are in the Customized numbered dialog box, click on "More"and go to the dialog box that says, "Follow number with" and select "nothing".
