    Can't log on

I have Windows 98SE on my laptop. I usually connect to the office network (Windows 20000) to synchronise, etc.

The other day, I entered my name, password & domain as usual and got a Microsoft Network Error box containing the message "The specified file was not found" with an OK button.

Clicking the button just takes me back to the same login screen.

I had logged on the previous evening without any problems and had not even used the laptop until the failed attempt to log on.

Does anyone have any idea what this means and which file they refer to?

    Many thanks,

    Kevin Duck

    Dear Steve,

    Thank you for the reply.

Our IT guy told me to delete everything and reinstall Windows 98. A bit drastic & time consuming but I can now log on!

    "delete everything and reinstall Windows 98" best work around found by a IT expert <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/bwaaah.gif border=0 alt=bwaaah width=123 height=15>

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
