Error 429 and CurrentDB (Access 97)

On some (and only some) workstations I get the following error
RunTime Error 429
ActiveX component can't create object

on the following VBA statement
Set xdb = CurrentDB

(there is a previous "DIM xbd As Database" statement).

I have read Microsoft Knowledgebase article 189366 that suggests using and explicit reference to "DBEngine.", but
Set xdb = DBEngine.CurrentDB
doesn't compile.

I basically use the "Set xdb = CurrentDB" in order to do a subsequent
Set xtbl = xdb.OpenRecordset("Table_x", dbOpenDynaset)
statement.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

(Edited by charlotte on 13-Nov-02 21:52. to activate link)
This was fixed by downloading REGSV32A.EXE from

http://download.microsoft.com/download/acc...US/Regsv32a.exe

running it to create REGSVR32.EXE, then executing the following 2 commands at the DOS prompt:

Regsvr32.exe /U "C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedDaoDao350.dll"

Regsvr32.exe "C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedDaoDao350.dll"

This properly registers the Dao350.dll file.
