Insert a Calculated Word Field (Word 2000)

Is there a way to insert a Date Field in a letter that displays a calculated date. For instance, if I wanted the date field to display the date 30 days from the current date (and update automatically whenever I opened the document), is there a way to do that?

In a previous thread from the beginning of this month, the same type of problem was discussed. The solution provided by Macropod was this:

    {QUOTE{SET Delay 5}{SET ReplyMonth"{=mod({DATE @ "MM"}+Delay-1,12)+1}/00"}{SET ReplyDate{=IF(AND({ReplyMonth @ "MM"}=2,{DATE @ "dd"}>28),28,IF(AND(OR({ReplyMonth @ "MM"}=4,{ReplyMonth @ "MM"}=6),{DATE @ "dd"}>30),30,IF(AND(OR({ReplyMonth @ "MM"}=9,{ReplyMonth @ "MM"}=11),{DATE @ "dd"}>30),30,{DATE @ "dd"})))}}{SET ReplyYear{={DATE @ "YYYY"}+if(Delay+{DATE @ "MM"}>12,1,0)}}{ReplyDate *Ordinal }160

<hr>how do I get this into my Word document?<hr>
    1. Copy & paste it so that you can view it.
    2. Start & insert the curly braces by pressing Ctrl+F9.
    3. Then just type.
    4. When you reach the next opening curly brace, the "{", press Ctrl+F9.
    Eventually, you'll be done typing.
    5. Select the entire nested field & make it an AutoText entry, so you never have to type it again.

    Cheers,

    Hi P.

In <post#=194850>post 194850</post#>, I attached a Word document containing various date calculations fields. You should be able to find one there that you could simply copy & paste into your document. At most you might need to change the output order for day/month/year.

    Cheers

macropod's work on this date calculation field is fantastic. I am using on several letters and documents.

I've modified (trimmed) the calculation field down so that I can produce an date index number as the result. I use this to calculate a index number of a future due date and today's date, which are than compared using an IF statement. I've attached an example of how I have used this calculation field.
