I hope someone can help me-I have an office setup on a VLAN that authenticates to our Exchange 2000 box through SMTP. The machines are XP operating system. Randomly through-out the day they get logon failures saying that password or domain is incorrect, but when this happens they can log onto OWA without any issues. Everything on the machines has been updated as far as service packs, etc. Profiles have been blown away and re-created. The mailboxes and accounts in active directory have been re-created. LMHosts files were added for the exchange server. So they are just having problems authenticating with the server through outlook client through-out the day-but can access through web access when they have the problem with the outlook client. I can't think of anything else to do with these accounts. I don't think it is hardware because they can access the internet when this happens, but just to be on the safe side, we put in another hub to replace the one they have.
