    MS Template Gallery (Office 2000)

How do I download/save a template from the MS Template Gallery. The instructions to use a template to create/save a document are plain enough, but the instructions to to download a given template are not clear to me. For example, they make no mention of saving the template with a .dot extension.

    Thanks,
    Regards,
    PaulB

    Try the thread that starts with <!post=post 185868,185868>post 185868<!/post> particularly <!post=Andrew Lockton's response,186047>Andrew Lockton's response<!/post>

Thanks, that seems to do the trick.

Can I infer from your response in that thread that a document and a template are one and the same with the only difference being the file extension (.doc, .dot)?

There are definitely not the same thing. If your browser suggests a .doc extension for a template you are downloading, you should manually override it to .dot to avoid future confusion.
