    W 2K and HP deskjet 5550 (SR-2)

I am having a challenge with a graphic in the header and this printer. It insists upon adding a green line underneath the graphic. PIII running WinME, printer connected by USB. HP's solution is to install the 550C driver, which I cannot get at their site and the ME CD is somewhere in my moving mess. I am unable to print any letters on this printer due to this problem. Has anyone encountered this and can anyone suggest a solution???

I'm not sure it would be safe to ask a neighbor for a Windows 98 disc, but if the Windows ME disc is nowhere to be found, it might be worth a try.

I put hp.com in my Restricted Zone to solve the JavaScript browser crashes...

Looks as though there is no 550C download:
<hr>HP Deskjet and Professional Series Printers - Obtaining and Installing Drivers for Windows 98 or Millennium (Me)
If you clicked a download link and this document displayed
There is no need to download a driver from the Web site if you selected a download link and were brought here. The most current driver for your printer is already integrated into Windows 98/Me and it is already on every Windows 98/Me PC.<hr>
The complete article is attached as PDF.

For the hp deskjet 5550 printer software/driver - home users for USB or parallel(English), Windows 9x and ME:
    <A target="_blank" HREF=ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software1/COL1262/dj-7135-1/5550-enu-win9x_ME.exe>ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software1/CO...nu-win9x_ME.exe</A> 22.6 MB !

    Hope this helps.

I have this driver download - they specifically told me to download the 550C driver - SIGH! In NO OTHER program, other than Word2K, does this graphic behave like this. And of course there is no MS support for Word2K since it is way past activation/registration. NEW IDEA/QUESTION: could this problem be solved by the use of a parallel cable.
