    Printing (OE 5.5)

    Hi,

I got this message from one of our members:

"I am finally finding my way around this new ... mail system,[based on OE as mail client] thanks to your
good help. However, I find that when I am composing a letter the system
doses not allow me to print the text when I am in the Printing Text window.
I often like to proof read letter on hard copy before I send it. I
noticed that there is no provision for a print icon. Is there a way to
overcome this little problem?. The one alternative is to copy the text, get
out of ... mail and copy it to a file in Word. This works but it is
awkward, and not as smooth as old cc-mail that allowed you to print your
text. I world appreciate any help you can give me."

    TIA for your help.

Another workaround is to send it to yourself. I can't imagine why OE has this limitation!

Do you use the DRAFTS folder at all? If you are wanting to check something before sending it, and are happy to read it on screen rather than print it off, just create your new message as normal, then instead of sending the message, close it, a screen will come up asking if "do you want to save changes" say YES and it will then save the email in the DRAFTS folder until you want to continue, alter, edit or add anything to it, then it can be sent when you wish. I use this often when I am in the middle of writing an email and have to stop to rush off somewhere, it saves me having to rewrite it all from scratch. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

Two possibilities - if the message has a menu bar, choose File, Print. Alternatively, I haven't yet found a Windows window of which I can't print the contents by pressing Ctrl-P when the window in question is the 'active' one (the one in front, selected, whatever).
