    Install MSN 8 (IE 6)

Was wondering if it is "safe" to install MSN Explorer 8. Microsoft has been touting all the added security benefits of the new version. (Don't know why that makes me nervous)

Hope I haven't missed the chatter on this one.

What they dont tell you is that your MSN POP 3 account is toast as soon as you sign on, you might find that your financial information is on whatever pasport (hotmail) account you have if you use M$ Money 2003, and you will probably have a rough time of it if you have had a MSN POP3 account and a hotmail account. The upside is that you will be protected from most common mail attachments, worse than Outlook. You will not be able to EVER see these attachments. What ever mail address you gave when you signed up for Passport *MIGHT* have a problem and everything is now stored for you on a Microsoft server. Yes you can store mail in old OE type files on your computer but try and find those files buried in the bowels of XP with strange names or numbers much like Outlook PST files but I have yet to find them, however I have only reloaded it 4 times in 3 days.

OK so it's late and I am slightly jaded but it's a great program if you can stand the above tiny little things that don't tell you. The picture it photo editing is Picture IT Express. It's good but nothing like Digital Image Pro and you can blast in 3meg mail attachments or packs of photos

Woody will have to put up a seperate section for MSN 8 when more people like me get involved.
