    Disable MRU commands & toolbars share row options (WinXP-Office2000)

    We have a Word configuration macro in a company-wide normal.dot. I have tried recording a macro to do this but no code appears in the VBE. I need to code the following:

    Go into Tools | Customize | Options

    Disable "Standard and formatting toolbars share one row"
    Disable "Menus show most recently used commands first"

    Any help would be appreciated. I am also going to post this in the Word group.

    Nancy,

    Here is a partial answer.

    To Disable "Menus show most recently used commands first" use:

    CommandBars.AdaptiveMenus = False

    Try this for the other:

    Sub OnTwoRows()
    With CommandBars("Menu Bar")
    .RowIndex = 1
    .Left = 0
    End With
    With CommandBars("Standard")
    .RowIndex = 2
    .Left = 0
    End With

    With CommandBars("Formatting")
    .RowIndex = 3
    .Left = 0
    End With

    Hi Nancy:
    These items are controlled by the word.pip file. If you change these options locally & then find & copy the word.pip file, to all users, it should work...for a non VBA method. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

    Phil, thank you. If I can't get it into VBA, this is what we'll do. Thanks for responding.
