    Duration and Finish Date (2000/SR-1)

I need a reality check, please. We are setting up a project on which resource allocation is not an issue. We are tracking progress by team, with the Team Lead responsible for the entire team, regardless of size. As a result, we do not need to schedule or track hours worked, but are instead only interested in duration. For status reporting, we want to know if a task finished 100% on the planned finish date, or if not, what the new forecast finish date is. We believe this will be sufficient to let us identify slippage and critical path changes.
We also want to use Project Workgroup messaging (email, not Project Central) for this tracking. I am new to Workgroup messaging and am not sure how to best customize the fields to get the information that we need.
Any comments or advice will be welcome! Thanks.

Re: Duration and Finish Date (2000/SR-1)

If you go to view: reports and double click current activities there is a report called slipping tasks which will print the current start and finish, plus the baseline start and finish fields. If you are saving an interim plan which will capture new baseline starts and finishs and want to show that in the report you will have to add Start1/finish1 fields to your variance table so it will show in the report.
Your second question about workgroup fields: go to tools, customize workgroup. THere are some fields that you cannot remove but you can add to them.
