    Remove controller

I've installed a ATA 100 card in the slot next to my AGP vodeo card so both cards are using same IRQ 11
Checked and device manager shows no conflicts.
I want to know if i can remove the Primary IDE Controller in the BIOS as there is no Drive hooked to it and try to assign it's IRQ 14 to my ATA card or would this cause problems?

    Re: Remove controller

There shouldn't be a problem with disabling the on board controller, since,
the ATA 100 will insert itself into the system at startup.

Matter of fact, if you have enough resources, and your system supports it,
    you could run both simultaneously.

    Have fun.
