can't uninstall or install? (off 2000)

i have a windows 2000 machine that according to the add/remove programs list has off 2k small business, and off 2k premium installed...but office wont run.... i tried installing sr1...it claims it is already there... but i cant install sp2 or sp3 cause it says that sp1 is not installed.... whew..
i have installed off2k pro several times.... but i get an error after it is finished saying that 'this application must be installed to run. please run setup from the location where you originally installed the application',,,etc...........
my problem is that we dont have the small business or premium disks to do any of this with.... how can i clean this up and get off2k pro to install?
thanks in advance for any suggestions...

Seemly you've got a mess in your Registry after several installations of different flavors of Office and different patches. Cleaning requires a lot of effort and time. From my experience, it is easier to reinstall everything from scratches then to try to fix it. Check your installation CDs (Windows, Office, all installed programs), valid product keys, all security patches (SP-3 for Windows and SP-3 for Office are two different things), back up all your data files, if you can make a full backup of your system, upgrade BIOS, and if everything is ready, boot your computer from Windows 2000 CD and reformat the hard drive...
    Good luck!
