    Identities (6.0)

    I have OE6, IE6 & WinXP Home 5.126 SP1 Build 2600 ( if that helps).

I am not able to create any additional Identities. The Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 311399 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[LN];311399 seemed to address my problem but in reality is of no help.

<img src=/S/hello.gif border=0 alt=hello width=25 height=29> Hi Colin, do you mean you cannot setup additional identies in XP Home, or OE? XP Home is easy to set up multiple identities, the same with multiple email accounts in Outlook Express. Clarify what you are trying to do?

try http://www.tomsterdam.com/insideOE/index.htm - there are known problems with SP1 and identities and Tom might have better information.

    Re: Identities (6.0)

Sorry I wasn't clear. It is OE where I am unable to set up additional identities. There was another post from MaryJ with a reference to some known problems and she gave me a link http://www.tomsterdam.com/insideOE/index.htm that I will check out now.

But ya, when I add a new identity in OE6, say "Test Identity" it then asks me if I would like to switch to that identity now. When I select yes, the screen goes blank for a moment and then the "Main Identity" is displayed, not the new one.

Thanks. The workaround at tomsterdam solved my problem! I wonder when Microsoft will get around to fixing it properly?!
