Accessing from VB applications (2002 (XP))

When Outlook is accessed via a VB application a message is displayed that says that Outlook is being accessed and asks how long you wish to allow access for. The Help screen says this is to prevent access by viruses.

Does anyone know if there is a setting that will stop this message appearing and allow direct access as in previous versions of Office. We know the VB application is safe and do not want to keep answering this window.

    Cheers JOTO

Welcome to the brave new world. That's the way it works in OLXP. You might be able to code around the triggers for this using Extended MAPI. There's a library called Outlook Redemption that might meet your needs. It's free for some uses; but the license fee isn't bad in any case. Take a look at http://dimastr.com/redemption
