Setting default directory for saving attachments (98)

(Edited by algemmell on 29-Nov-02 14:52. Improve clarity of question)
Is if possible to set Outlook98 options to make a directory the default into which attachments to email messages will be saved unless you specify otherwise?

The VBA Chdir statement does this. I simply cannot remember if Outlook 98 uses VBA and I don't have it installed to check

This article sounds like it might work for saving as well as opening: Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 253135 - OL98: How to Set the Default Attachment Directory. I don't have OL98, so I haven't tried it, but in looking at the name of the key, it seems likely to make a wholesale change for all programs, from the default "My Documents" folder to whatever you choose. That might be more change than you're looking for.

    John,

I have now looked at OLDefaultPath and it does exactly what I was looking for! Many thanks indeed to you (and to the others who responded to my message) for the idea.

    Setting default directory for attachments

I thought I'd post a "Thanks" for the info' - we have been wanting to change the default opening directory when we wish to attach files. That article is spont on for us and so another "thanks" for pointing it out.
