    Blacked out icons

    Hi

    I have a PC runninng Windows ME and all the desktop and systray Icon just become a black square.
    I have tried deleting shelliconcache but this does not work.

    Any Ideas please

    If the change is a recent one, you might try System Restore, setting it to a time/date when there were no problems with icons.

    Thanks for your reply, I did not think restore was in Windows ME but I can try it in dos with scanreg /restore.

    Braddy, in ME you should find System Restore buried in Start - Programs - Accessories - System Tools or very nearby. It's more thorough than restoring an older registry, if only marginally.
