    Duplicates opening (2000)

    Hi there!
Has anyone experienced this situation: double click to open a spreadsheet and TWO windows open - of the same file? The only difference seems to be the selected cell (one focuses to A1, the second focuses to G26).
One of our users is now experiencing this problem with files - after using Excel for a year with no problem.
The only thing that's different now - these are files converted from Lotus Notes.
Any and all help is MOST appreciated!

When you save a workbook, it's window(s) states are also saved so that if you had 2 windows open in the same workbook when the file was saved, they will re-appear when the workbook is opened.

You can click on either of the windows' close button (small x in the top right of the window) to get rid of one of them.

Yes. If you click on "New Window" in the Window menu, Excel will open a second window on the same file. If you save the file with the second window open, it will open again with both windows. Close the second window by clicking on the "X" in the upper right corner of the window (not the "X" in the upper right corner of the Title Bar) to close the second window then save the file. It should now open with only one window.
