    Opening mail attachment (2002/SP2)

Normally, when you double-click on an attachment, Outlook displays a dialog box titled "Opening mail attachment" that asks whether you want to Open the file or Save it to disk. Additionally, there is a check box that says "Always ask before opening this type of file". Unfortunately, I made the mistake of de-selecting this option for .doc files. Now when I double-click on a .doc attachment, the file opens up in Word automatically and I never get to see the "Opening mail attachment" dialog box. Consequently, I cannot re-select the "Always ask..." option. Is there a way to go back to the default settings through either a program option or a registry change?

    Windows Explorer:
Tools > Folder Options > File Types

Find the "DOC" extension, click Advanced, re-select "Confirm open after download"

    (I think!)
