    Calendar Printing (2000 SR1)

A client of mine wants to display and print millstone tasks on a monthly basis. Problem is, there are too many tasks on certain days so that project sends them off the calendar and back to a list. A weekly calendar view shows all the tasks but the client wants a monthly view. Any ideas or add-on software that might work would be very helpful.

Have you tried filtering the view? You can filter out tasks you don't want to see and then print.

Could you please clarify if you are using a gantt format or the calendar format (or other) to print milestone tasks on a monthly basis.

We are using the calendar format. Have not filtered out tasks as the client wants them all. For sure we are going to have to work the process, but they do have quite a number of "critical" tasks.

    Another question.

What format are you using? i.e., Calendar Report or Calendar View (i.e, From the main menu, select View and Calendar)

We are using the Calenday View. Of course one answer is to cut back the number and or length of the tasks, however I don't think that will fly.

The only way I can think of to help you without exporting and manipulating the data is as follows:

In MS Project, Select View, Reports
    - Select Custom
    - Select Milestone report
    - Select Edit
    On the Definition Tab
    - Set Period to Month
    - Set Count to 1
    - Select Checkbox for Grey Bands
    On the Sort Tab
    - Set the first Sort to Start

This will give you a monthly overview of all of your milestones sorted by task.

    HTH
