    Get Focus (Windows XP Pro)

    Hi

I recently changed my settings so that as the mouse is moved over a window it gets focus without a click so if for instance if I click the start button but move
the mouse sidewards instead of upwards the start window immediatley closes as it loses focus.
But for life of me I cannot remember how I did this, I have eliminated all the settings in the mouse software, but I have a feeling I did it somewhere else.

Can anyone help an old fool please.

    Try this Braddy ~

Right click on your 'Start' button, select 'Properties', click the 'Start Menu' tab, click the 'Customize' button, click the 'Advanced' tab, then uncheck 'Open submenus whan I pause on them with my mouse' under the 'Start menu settings' section at the top.

    Hi Bruce

Thank you for your suggestion, I am not in position to try it at the moment, but I will let you know how I get on.

    Many Thanks

Not sure, but I don't think you can follow Bruce's path if you are using CLASSIC Start Menu. However, I would have thought it much more likely that you turned this feature ON with TweakUI for XP.

    Hi Big Al

Lovely to hear from you again,

You are absolutely correct as soon as I saw your screen shot I remembered doing it.

    I am eternally grateful.

    No Sweat, Sir! What's a "neighbor" for anyway? Although, I wouldn't want to have to SWIM to come for a visit. <img src=/S/compute.gif border=0 alt=compute width=40 height=20>
