    CDRW Format

I if format a 650mb CDRW (with Roxio-DirectCD) the availabe space is only 533mb. Is there something going on with the other 25% of the disc space?

    Thanks,
    John

    Re: CDRW Format

Formattingpartitioning a CDRW or HD will take some space on the drive depending on the type of partitioning formatting used. Therefore, the AVAILABLE
space will be less the total size of the drive material itself.

Long ago, there was a time when men cursed and beat on the ground with sticks. It was called witchcraft.
    Today it is called golf!

    Re: CDRW Format

    100% * (650 - 533) / 650 = 18% not 25%

A file system needs lots of space for storing data describing what is where and how all the space is used. 18% is high, but not unreasonable.
