Sound notifications turn off automagically (2000/2002)
Apologies if this has been posted before, but I couldn't find a reference to it in a search.
Since the days of OL2002 I've noticed that there is a tendency for Outlook to randomly decide to clear the Provide feedback with sound checkbox. This is the tick under Tools - Options - Other - Advanced. I'm certain it's Outlook because I rarely use other Office applications - and the sounds disappear regardless. It's more of a nit than anything else, but I have come to rely on audible cues for checking mail (among other sounds).
I don't expect Microsoft will ever get around to fixing what is not a show-stopper of a bug - but has anyone else come across a fix, workaround, or even a cause?-Mark
