How do I animate my background? (PowerPoint 2000-2002)

    <img src=/S/hello.gif border=0 alt=hello width=25 height=29> Loungers

How do I animate my background?

I am using the Pulse.pot template and I have seen this background send a pulse every time a slide is displayed.

Mine is dead, and I would like it to send a pulse each time I have an event on my slide, such as new text flying from left, and changing slides.

    Where is this controlled?

View the Slide Master, click on the background to select it and use the drawing toolbar to ungroup the background. Now you can setup custom animation while in the Master View which will animate all of the slide backgrounds. I've not seen the animation that you have referred to, but with pulse, a "cute" one is to have just Rectangle 1 fly from the left. HTH --Sam

What do we do without you?

You got me started and you are right the pulse template has the cutest effect, specially that my topic is technical in nature. I am giving a presentation about Computer Forensics, and it does make an impact using the Pulse template.

What I still could not figure out is:

How do I make the pulse react to events other than the display of the slide?

I have some text flying from the left and I think I can produce a cuter effect if the pulse fires each time the text flies in vs just when the slide is shown.

    Any ideas?

KB, Here is a list of PP2K templates. None of them that I know of is animated. You will have to animate them yourself. I have attached Pulse.pot (had to zip it, pot's are not allowed), let me know if there are other that you want, --Sam

    Hi,

Thanks. It seems that you have a lot of collection. Could i ask for your collection set? Not a must. If you can then it's ok or just leave it.

All of the PP2K templates are available to download from Iowa State University. Just right-click and save target as. However, you should already have many of them on your PP 2002, including pulse. HTH --Sam

Re: How do I animate my background? (PowerPoint 2000-2002)

If you go to http://search.officeupdate.microsoft.com/T...ery/default.asp and do a search for powerpoint templates, something like 52 templates come up. Many with boilerplate text showing how the presentation should be set up.
Also you might try the tutorial at http://office.microsoft.com/download...imtechnqs.aspx - lots of useful stuff there.

If you go to my website http://www.webgenii.ca and follow the link for Custom Template Design, you'll find some goofy templates you can download, in particular the Snowflake template shows animation occurring in the background.
