    Error Message

When opening certain applications or using the internet I frequently get this message:

"One of the library files needed to run this application cannot be found"

I have no idea what file the error message is referring to or what to do to resolve the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks!

If you don't get a file name, it's hard to know what to do. But there's always the old standby - UNINSTALL whatever program you're trying to run, make sure its directory gets erased and then REINSTALL the application. Sometimes one or more files get lost or corrupt. I'm just surprised you're not getting a file name in the error message.

Well, I checked here and don't see the file listed. Must be something unique to whatever program you're trying to run. What program?

Thank you again for your help. This error message appears suddenly in various applications. One program where it always appears is when I try to open Microsoft Excel; however, after I click OK , the application opens and works well.

How about doing a right-click and then properties on MpDBlf.dll to see if you can determine who the manufacturer was. I have no idea what the file is. I don't think it's native to Windows since I don't have that file on my Win ME machine.
