Monitor Driver

A friend has an AmTran 19 inch monitor, model 1097F. We have not been able to locate a driver for it and WIN ME has assigned it as a "plug and play" monitor. This does not support the energy management feature and the monitor does not go into sleep mode. If I changed the monitor to a Super VGA at 75 HZ - would that hurt anything? Also, would that support the energy management feature.

    Re: Monitor Driver

Trebor, you can try, just remember how to get into "safe mode" at startup by holding down the SHIFT + F4 Key at the Windows 98 Splash Screen.

There are a few resources I frequent to find drivers:

www.driverguide.com which is a marketing driven site, you must login to get p:All the urivers you need... *Hint* *Hint*

Give those a try, and see if you can't find the driver you're looking for!

Another thing to consider, is your video card setup properly? Not sure it has anything to do with it, but i'm just thinking outside the box..

    Hope that helps!

    Drk.
