    Save my settings wizard (XP-SP2)

I am about to get a new computer and want to make sure that I don't lose anything when I put all my stuff on the new machine. I have created an OPS file with the save my settings wizard that comes with the Office Resource Kit. But what does that really do? I presume it saves all my templates but what about favorites, cookies, after-market add-ins, custom toolbars, etc?

You can find this information in MSKB Article 259780. This article applies to Office 2000, but version of Save My Settings Wizard for Office XP is similar. The major difference is that you can save OPS file locally.

Thanks, but I had already searched the KB and found that article. I was wondering if there was anything new for Office XP.

Please see my earlier post, number <!post=169164,169164>169164<!/post>, on migration tools for Office 2000. There should be equivalents for XP.

no, there is nothing new for office - if you are upgrading to winxp, you can use it's file and transfer wizard to move the non-office files and settings. I recommend using the custom option and prudently select what you want moved - otherwise the entire drive contents will be moved and it can introduce problems that take more time to solve than manually moving things like your favorites or setting up addins would need.
