DOS command under XP (XP professional)

    Yes, DOS, old boring DOS.
I would like to know the DOS command for obtaining the year, the month and the day.

ECHO DATE gives something like this : we 12-11-2002.

I would like a format yyyymmdd.

This link may give you a start, but they warn that NT based platforms are unlikely to support it . . .

A warning for anyone else tempted to follow the link in the previous post...

It displayed a large number of popups and attempted to download and install a program on my PC.

Wow, no kidding. Rather than make that link live, I've attached the page's contents in a text file for anyone interested. Thanks for the heads up Stuart!

Edited by WyllyWylly to remove potentially malicious hyperlink.

    Thanks for the help!
The solution you provided got me on to this site: (removed, see post 205335 for the contents of that page)
That is the method I eventually used in my script.
