    upgrade to XP Pro (2600.xpsp1, 020828-1920, SP1)

Does anyone know if there is an upgrade from Windows XP Home to XP Pro, without having to pay 185.00., i mean if you already have XP Home, you would think it wouldn't take too much to upgrade to Pro, would you ?

I believe the answer is no. You'd think that there would be, but you're paying for the full license regardless. I do so hope that I'm mistaken....but as I understand it, there is no "upgrade" price available. Let's hope the collective knowledge of the Lounge proves me wrong.

At one time MS had a UPGRDE to Home from Pro fo those who bought a machine from a OEM that did NOT offer Pro. I have not seen anything on it for a lonnnng time.
    Sorry,

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Check amazon.com. The offer, $75 rebate for buyers of a new computer with xp home who want to upgrade to pro, is current. Don't know if it applies to you, though.
