    lost folder

    Silly question time.

I have a friend who has deleted a folder from his C: drive and then emptied his Recycle Bin as well. Is there any way at all to recover the folder? The PC has not been turned off since the blunder and he knows the exact name of the folder. Any help?

Not without a sector-level disk editing tool, and frankly no folder is worth that risk!

There are some un-delete tools available, but I've never tried one and never met anyone who has.
    Googling throws up a few choices, such as Fast-File-Undelete and you may think it worth the $30 to try it . . . <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>

If you are going to attempt any kind of recovery, it is important that no use is made of the PC in question. The data is most likely still there, but the space it is taking up will be marked as available and could be over-written at any time. . .

Oh yeah! Go take a look at Recover4All. I've used it quite SUCCESSFULLY on a number of occasions. Of course, it's gonna depend on what's happened to the hard drive since the deletion. Most of my experiences with it have been on floppies with only a few hard drive recoveries.
