    Stop New workbook dialog box (Excel 2002)

    Is there a way to prevent the New Workbook dialog box from opening on the screen everytime I select File, New? Thank you!

    How about creating a new button to go into you toolbar with this macro

    Sub NewBookMacro()
    Workbooks.Add
    End Sub

    Every time you click it a new workbook will open without the dialogue.

    Thank you for your help. I wonder if there is a way to natively disable it?

    I don't know if this has changed in XP, but in previous versions both the "New" button on the Standard toolbar and the Ctrl+N keyboard shortcut create a new workbook without the dialog. If the "New" button is still there in XP, you could copy it to the File menu and remove the built-in "New..." option.
