    Template attach (2000)

Hey out there - I have tried template attaching over the YEARS with no success. What I want to do is save a word document as a .dot and then use it. Fine and good. However for some reason I can't attach it. I had put a header into it... and when I attach it to a blank document based on normal.dot I see nothing! whassup?

    Thanks,

A template can have toolbars, macros, styles, autotext, and a number of other things, as well as content.

When you use File > New to create a new document based on the template then you get the templates content in your new document.

When you attach a template to an existing document you don't get the content, just the styles, macros etc.
