    distributing MDAC Components (MDAC 2.7)

Is there a merge module available somewhere that one can supply as part of an installation that can take the place of the MDAC.EXE to update the ADO components to 2.7 (or higher should a higher version be available)

I have tried spawning MDAC from the installation but if it asks for a reboot then after the reboot the main installation rollsback as the installer 'thinks' the installation was aborted.

Have you tried setting up the package so that the MDAC.EXE runs after the installation?

Thanks Charlotte - thats what I have as a stopgap measure in the autorun stub on the install CD. To the user it looks rather awkward as two installations need to be run. As Microsoft is pushing their installation engine it occurred to me that a merge module to perform this would be something that would be available somewhere. Then a developer would only need to include the merge module in their installation, no extra coding required and apparently only one installation required.

I like things to look neat and professional in the release version.
