    Add/Remove Hardware wizard

A minor issue but annoying none the less. Have a user that has added a Seiko label printer on COM1, he installed the software using the provided setup program. Now every time he reboots the Add/Remove Hardware Wizard insists on rediscovering the printer. Any thoughts? Thanx in advance.

    Re: Add/Remove Hardware wizard

    Try this:
Logon as user, uninstall the printer software and delete printer form Device Manager.
Logoff user, logon as Administrator, from Installation Mode (Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs) install the software and printer (follow the instruction for installation order).
Reboot computer and logon as Administrator. Make sure that software shortcuts are in All Users or <user> folder (whatever is needed). Reboot computer.
Logon as user and check is the printer recognized properly.

If you still are prompted by "Find new hardware" Wizard, try to boot to Safe Mode and in Device Manager delete all instances of Seiko printer, and after rebooting install the printer from Administrator account.
