Thread: No password

    No password

We have a web site that has some restricted pages. When a user hits that page it pops up login/password box. However, we have one workstation that it simply gives an access denied message - it never asks for the password.

We tried upgrading them from Windows 95 to 98 SE. We tried upgrading IE from 5.0 to 5.5. We can't figure out why they are not prompted for a password.

    Any ideas?

Could there be a bad saved password? I'm not sure how to clear out saved passwords in IE, but you could test the theory by trying to locate and rename the password file to prevent IE from automatically trying any saved password.
