    Office XP Pro (XP/?)

When I put the CD in the drive, instead of an install window opening, a window showing all the files and folders on the CD appears. How do I install the entire program?

Perhaps you have AutoPlay turned off? Look for setup.exe or something similar.

Where do I check for autoplay being turned off? There are hundreds of files and many setup files for the various softwares within Office.

After Office installation is complete, Setup window no longer automatically opens on that computer after installation CD is inserted. This behavior is by design.

So if you want to reinstall Office, do you have to do a complete uninstall first to enable the install window to appear?

I don't think a COMPLETE uninstall of Office XP is possible unless you reinstall Windows or create a restore point in Windows XP before Office installation.

But all functionality of Office Setup is available from Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Microsoft Office... | Change. It will bring you dialog window with Add/Remove Features, Repair Office and Uninstall options.

I saw that. I guess it will grab the appropriate files from the CD and I don't need the autplay to run setup.

Alternatively look for a file called setup.exe or install.exe in the CD's root directory - that usually sets the routine going.
