    win 98 task bar problem

I am trying to fix an old laptop with win 98. On startup, the task bar (not set to hide) is below the bottom viewable portion of the screen. I have to
drag-englarge the task bar to make is visible. It is then centered into a task bar pane three times as wide as it needs to be. I have tried selecting
hide, start-on top, and screen resolutions settings (1024*768). Is there a way to reset this in the registry or other? thank you and happy holidays. scott

Re: win 98 task bar problem

It sounds like the display size need to be reduced and then centered on the display. This may not be a software adjustment, but a hardware adjustment and the way that it would be done depends on the brand of computer. On most desktops it is done with buttons on the display itself. How it is done on a laptop depends on the laptop.
