    Invalid Page Fault Word97

When I open a Word97 doc I get the error below. The document contains a few embedded photos as well as a TOC and index. Please help! How can I get around this? Thanks, Frances

Once Word starts choking on a corrupted document (if it is a corrupted document), your options are limited. You could try turning on Tools>Options...>View>Picture

In addition to steps involving corrupted documents, I would try Step 1 (& maybe even Step 2) in <post#=197827>post 197827</post#>. Sometimes temp files can cause problems. As Jefferson mentioned, you might also try copying all the text (excluding the last paragraph) & then recreating your TOC from scratch & pasting the pictures from scratch (if they're available).
    Cheers,
