Opening Excel in IE 5.5
This is similar to a thread about a month ago re Word Doc Links, but I am not able to solve this problem.
My client has a series of web pages/html files on their file server (they are not running a web server) created with Frontpage 2000. One of the pages contains links to Excel files and at least one of the files needs to be opened, updated, and saved.
When the user clicks on the link, the file opens in the browser but they can not edit the file. This has only occurred since they upgraded to IE 5.5 from IE 5.0.
An obvious solution would seem to be to go back to 5.0; however they have another application which requires 5.5.
Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated!
