    Special character in hyperlink (2000 SR-1)

    Well, sooner or later it had to happen. A user is being burned because they used an "&" in the name of their web...

    She's trying to make an asp page using VBScript, and within the script she's calling a page in this horribly named web. Before she renames the web and has to track down who knows how many external hyperlinks within a very large intranet site, is there a way to quote or escape a special character in a URL? Other plans that will fix the web name are some time off, so it will eventually go away, but that's a year off and we've been able to live with it so far. This page always returns an "An invalid character was specified in the Path parameter for the MapPath method" error when previewed. It seems VBScript is choking on the & in the URL within. Here's a quote of some of the VBScript lines:

    CUSTLIST.async = false
    CUSTLIST.load(Server.MapPath("http://dezinfo2/sco/opsplng&eng/pdd/customers.xml"))

    Thanks,
    Dave
