How do I create a .exe for custom toolbar? (Word 2002)

    Hi there,

I have created a custom toolbar using VBA and need to be able to package it as a .exe file with a 30 day limit.

Is this doable? If so, any help/advice would be much appreciated, because I have absolutely no idea where to start.

    Thanks

Maybe a COM Add-in? Windows will see it as a DLL, not an EXE, but your code still is compiled securely. As for a 30-day limit, you could have the add-in deactivate itself after a date certain (e.g., March 15, 2003). There are much fancier ways to package up demos, but if you don't have time and money to deal with that, this should be close enough...

    Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. Packaging as a COM add-in will certainly suffice for now. I am a little unsure how to do this though. Any advice would be much appreciated

    Thanks, Chris

Well, first you need either Office Developer Edition or Visual Basic (or maybe a .NET product?). Then, for "how to" and tips on COM Add-ins, these posts might help:
