    back-dating files created

    <img src=/S/compute.gif border=0 alt=compute width=40 height=20> Is there anyway i can create a document today but override or change the creation date to a date in the past? I am running windows 2000.

    Set the system date to the date in the past and create the file.

    Also you can use utility as NirSort FileDate Changer v1.1 to change time and date of one or more files.

    Actually no, you could go to prison for 6 months if you do that.

    Just kidding. Or maybe not, depending on what kind of file it is.

    There was a utility published by PC Magazine eons ago that probably can be downloaded from ZDNet. It was called "touch" or something like that and allowed you to change a variety of properties of a file.

    I have downloaded and tried some software from PETGES.COM and it works !!! Thanks to all who submitted suggestions, i really appreciate it. Now i might have to deal with some legal questions next!!!

    Do a advance search at Google.com on "time stamp" and you will find several from <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15> to lots <img src=/S/money.gif border=0 alt=money width=17 height=15>

    Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
