Accessing a specific folder on all users machines? (Word 2002)

    Hi,

I am developing an application that saves Word template files (.dot) into the following folder (This is the path on my machine):

    Cocuments and SettingsFRANK01Application DataMicrosoftTemplates

However, I am a little confused as to how I should code to enable the same functionality on all users machines. Ie, FRANK01 could be anything. How can I access the same templates folder on all users machines?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks, Chris

    Chris,

Have a look at <post#=209429>post 209429</post#> It should give you the info you need. (BTW I just checked W2K and the Reg Keys are the same)

You will need to check the registry because a user may change the templates default location.

However, if you are doing everything from within Word, you can get the templates path with:

    Options.DefaultFilePath(wdUserTemplatesPath)

    HTH,

Unfortunately common sense isn't so common!!
