    W98 Password

All of a sudden my single user computer started requesting entry of a Network Password on bootup. Hitting Enter causes it to proceed, but it is rather irritating to have that happen every time. Is there someway to avoid this password request?

    I don't know why it would have changed arbitrarily - but it's not like these things don't happen once in a while anyway. <img src=/S/blackteeth.gif border=0 alt=blackteeth width=20 height=20>

Right-click on Network Neighborhood, select Properties from the context menu, and then check your primary logon: if it reads 'Client for Microsoft Networks' (or anything else for that matter) that's your problem. Change it to 'Windows Logon', OK your way out and reboot - you may be prompted for a password one last time, but pressing Enter (not escape) should give Windows a blank password after which it won't prompt you again.

Got my fingers crossed.....let's hope that's it!
