    Access Report (2000)

<img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15> I have a report with a Page Header that shows a date that various work was completed. I need to number each new date in the page header. Want I need is for the number to increase by one each time the date changes. Thanks

I'm not tracking here. What do you mean by "number" each new date? Are you breaking to a new page when the date changes? Are you trying to count the number of records for a date, the number of different dates, or something else entirely?

I don't know about the Page Headers, recommend you group report by the date field; set Group Header to Yes, Group On to Day, Interval to 1. The Group Header section should display the date in whatever format is desired; add an unbound textbox to Group Header, set its Control Source to "=1" (w/o quotes), set Running Sum property to Over Group. The number displayed in this textbox will start with "1" and will increment by one for each new date (ie, each new group) in report. This will NOT work in Page Header. To display this number in Page Header, you must follow instructions above, hide the textbox in Group Header if you don't want it visible, force a page break before or after group section, add unbound textbox to Page Header & set its Control Source to hidden textbox in Group Header. Example:

    =[TxtRunSumGrp]

Where txtRunSumGrp is name of textbox in Group Header.
