    Registry Cleaner Question

I am running a dual boot system - WIN 98 and WIN XP. Am I correct that a registry cleaning type software has to be installed and run on both systems individually? This would be unlike a disk defrag program that can be installed on one partition and defrag all partitions. Thanks.

    Re: Registry Cleaner Question

You are correct in your statement. The registry for Win98 is NOT THE SAME as the registry for WinXP.

You may also be interested to know that several months ago Microsoft withdrew their RegClean 4.1a from their website - I understand that this was because of problems with Office XP. Howver a Google search will produce large numbers of hits, if you want to risk it. There's a non-Microsoft program called RegCleaner, which I've used occasionally without problems.
