splitting one cell into two or three (Office XP)

    Hi,
What formula would I use which is the opposite of "Concatenate"? I have one column of names listed as Last, First MI. I would like to splt this out into columns. I've done it before, but can't remember how I did it. (Having a Senior moment I guess) <img src=/S/bingo.gif border=0 alt=bingo width=15 height=22>
    Thanks!

    Try the following:

1- Make sure that there are enough empty columns to the right of the column of names to hold the max number of names in the list.

2- Select the column containing the names.

3- Select "Text to columns" from the Data menu.

4- In the dialog box select "Delimited" and then click on the Next button.

5- Put check marks next to Tab, Space, and Comma.

6- Click on the Finish button.
