Mail Merge (Word 2002)

Hello All, I have a mail merge document that also contains bookmarks and form fields. After the merge, the merge fields are populated nicely but my bookmarks and form fields no longer exist. How do I get around this problem?
    Thanks for any help...Steve

    Re: Mail Merge (Word 2002)

I do very few mail merges. However, it seems probable that a merge cannot replicate the bookmarks into each new section because only one bookmark in a document can have a given name. Form fields might have the same issue, but there have been threads here on merging form fields, so if you search a bit you might find a better answer.

Are you merging to separate documents?

As Jefferson points out, you can't have the same bookmark twice in the same file. The form fields will need another excuse for going AWOL as I wouldn't have expected that.

(Edited by Phil Rabichow on 13-Jan-03 15:27. to change the article number as the orginal URL was for Word 2000)
Text form fields are not retained during a mail merge. This is by design. For a macro workaround, see:

    Cheers,
